MA+HG Architects is a Vancouver-based studio led by Marianne Amodio and Harley Grusko. Their work operates at the intersections of rigour and play, construction and art. Pairing modern forms with colour, unexpected geometries, and expressive spatial moments to produce architecture that is optimistic, whimsical, and emotionally engaging.
The practice spans multi-family residential, commercial and mixed-use, heritage retention, and cultural projects. A bespoke design process grounds each commission in its specific context, client, and community. Once described by a client as having the ability to "magically transform ordinary spaces and humble materials into places of poetic beauty,"
The studio believes that great architecture emerges from creative thinking within tight constraints. This conviction shapes the firm's design approach, and has earned MA+HG the Architectural Institute of British Columbia's Emerging Firm Award in 2016 and, most recently, Western Living's Architects of the Year in 2025.
